Why You Should Not Buy The Igloo MaxCold 40 Roller Cooler

Although the title of this post may make you think I am completely against all Igloo products, I am not. I have a large cooler of theirs I think is great. I am just not a fan of the MaxCold 40 Roller cooler I bought this summer for one reason only.

It does not have a drain plug which is something I failed to notice before I bought it. So instead of being able to pull the plug to drain out the water inside it, I have to tip it upside down which is not only awkward but messy.

Other than that, it is a great cooler. It has easy to grab side handles for carrying it and a handy swing up tow handle. I also like the size of it for short camping trip when I don’t want to lug my big cooler to the campground.

But because it doesn’t have a drain plug, I don’t recommend it. maxcold 60 cooler

Instead, if you are looking for a nice rolling cooler, buy the MaxCold 60 Roller cooler instead. It is a little larger (holds 81 cans versus 56 cans that the MaxCold 40 holds), but isn’t so much larger that it’s unmanageable. It is the same design as the MaxCold 40, with the nice side handles and swing up tow handle, but there is one big difference. The MaxCold 60 has a threaded drain plug which makes it easy to drain.
