Spam and Beans Campfire Supper Recipe

I admit that Spam is not my first choice of meat (nor my second, third, or even fourth); but it’s a food my husband grew up having and still really likes so I indulge him periodically by making him Spam and beans on at least one camping trip a year.

The best part about the meal is that it’s super easy to make. And, once you get over how Spam looks, it doesn’t taste too bad.

SPAM AND BEANS CAMPFIRE SUPPER RECIPE
Ingredients:
1 can Spam
1, 28 ounce can Bush’s original pork ‘n beans
1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
1 tablespoon molasses (optional)

Spray a 9×13 disposable foil pan (you can also use aluminum foil and make two equal size packets) with non-stick cooking spray; pour in beans, sprinkle on brown sugar, and drizzle with the molasses. Stir to mix.
Thinly slice the spam and arrange over the top of the beans.
Cover tightly with aluminum foil

Place on cooking grate over campfire and cook until beans are bubbling and meat is heated through - about 20-30 minutes depending on the heat of the fire.

Serve immediately.
