Pudgie Pie (Pie Iron) Dessert Pies Recipe

Dessert pudgie pies are easy to make and really delicious. They are satisfying ending to any camping meal. And you only need a few ingredients, 4 to be exact.

PUDGIE PIE DESSERT PIES
Ingredients:
White bread
softened butter
canned pie filling, apple or cherry (but feel free to substitute any kind you like best)
ground cinnamon (if using apple or cherry pie filling)

For each pie, butter one side of two slices of bread. Place one slice, buttered side down, into the pie iron. Top with a couple tablespoons of your favorite pie filling. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon if using apple or cherry pie filling. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
Close the pie iron.
Cook over hot coals or glowing campfire wood.
Watch them carefully so the bread doesn’t burn. These only take 1-2 minutes per side in a hot fire.
When the bread is toasted and golden brown, remove the pudgie pie from the fire.
Put it on a plate, cut it in half and enjoy. If you’re feeling generous, give half your sandwich to another camper for them to savor.
