A Camping Chair That Dries Out Fast After It Rains From TravelChair

I cannot tell you many times our folding camping chairs have gotten wet and have taken so long to dry out that we had nothing sit on for a day or two unless we wanted to get wet butts. We make a point of taking our chairs down every night, but have a tendency to leave them out during the day even when we aren’t at our campsite. And, just like when I get my car washed and it rains the same day, it seems to rain every time we leave our chairs set up when we leave camp for several hours to go on an adventure.

Now there’s a solution to the problem. TravelChair
has chairs covered in Ballistic Nylon Mesh which is not only very durable but is quick drying too. Rainwater won’t puddle in the seat and they are mildew resistant. Even the accompanying storage bag has a mesh panel so the chair can be put away wet if necessary and not have it get icky smelling and moldy.

Some of its other features include:
saltwater resistant finish
ABS resin feet
bar tacked and double stitched throughout
5/8″ tubular steel frame that is 1.1mm thick
holds up to 300 pounds

Lounge In Comfort While Camping With the Lounge Lizard

There’s nothing quite like camping and enjoying the great outdoors. The fresh air, the birds chirping in the trees, a crackling campfire, and food cooked outdoors all contribute to making camping one of the best activities there is (at least to me).

My spouse and I love to take long hikes or bike rides and then come back to camp to sit and relax - except when the only seating is broken down folding chairs. Uncomfortable seating makes camping a whole lot less fun than it should be. The last thing I want to do after going for a 6 mile hike is to come back and squirm around in an uncomfortable chair trying to find the least uncomfortable position. I won’t have to worry about that anymore because I’ve found the TRAVELCHAIR Lounge Lizard. It’s almost as comfortable as my cushy recliner at home and is a welcome place to relax after a day being out and about on the trails.

It’s a little on the pricey side, but worth it because it’s so comfortable and built so durably that it will last for many years.

Want A Camp Chair That Will Last?

Most of us probably have at least one or two uncomfortable and/or falling apart folding chairs that we take camping. I’m guilty. I have two that I bought at a large discount store a few years ago because I thought they were a good deal, and they were if I only consider the price. But now, they are on their last legs (literally). The frames are bent, the fabric is ripped, the beverage holder cup has a big hole in it and no longer holds anything, and they are only a slightly better seating option than sitting on wet, damp ground.

So I researched camp chairs looking for a product with good reviews, that were recommended by other camping enthusiasts, and didn’t require a second mortgage to purchase.

The chairs I’m buying are from TravelChair

Why do I like these chairs?

First of all, not everyone who goes camping with us is slim and trim. There’s a few larger people among us and the TravelChairs comfortably support 300 pounds. The more cheaply made discount stores usually have a maximum weight limit of 225 and sometimes 250 pounds, but that’s it.

Plus, they are:
reinforced with seat belt webbing
double stitched
have a double layer of material (600 Denier Polyester)
easy to fold

And, one of the most important features, is a sturdy beverage holder that won’t rip and tear after just a few uses. I’ve had camp chairs without a beverage holder and hated them. Without one, you either have to hold your beverage the whole time, which isn’t hard unless you’re trying to do something else at the same time like eating a meal or roasting a marshmallow. Then you either have to try and hold both or put your beverage on the ground. At our camping outings, beverages left on the ground seem to inadvertently become targets to get knocked over. Sure, you can save part of a beer that’s been knocked over if you grab it quick enough, but what you have left is beer mixed with dirt and grass and other non-tasty things. And you know what that means, right? It means you need a fresh cold beer!

Plus they come in several colors, including the bright red pictured above.

My first camping trip this year is in about a month. After we’ve used these new chairs I’ll update this post and let you know what we thought of them.
