Rotisserie Campfire Cooking
I would love to be able to cook a whole chicken over a campfire when we go camping but I’m hoping for some advice from other camping enthusiasts because I cannot find a good quality campfire rotisserie that’s designed for smaller cooking jobs. I don’t need one to cook a whole pig nor am I going to spend over $1,000 on one either. I’m looking for something that’s good quality and around $100 (less if possible).
I looked on Amazon. They offer a motorized (battery operated) campfire rotisserie by Grizzly Spit, but it only has two reviews and both of them are very negatize. Apparently the motor and its casing don’t hold up to heat very well which is kind of crazy because the spit attaches to the motor and is going to be in close proximity heat.
I also found a hand crank model that’s part of a portable cookstove for camping but I’d prefer one that I don’t have to turn by hand if at all possible.

Both items are reasonable (each is less than $50) but I want to get something that’s good quality.
Does anyone do rotisserie cooking over a campfire when they go camping? If you do, I’d love to hear from you and hear what you use.
